I love learning and thinking the most. I can surely keep busy for the rest of my life and not find enough hours in the day. There is so much that I want to learn as the world changes through greater access to information and technology, but the basics remain the same. The more we learn, the less we know and all the knowledge in the world doesn't do one bit of good without the wisdom to know what to do with it. That will never change.
We always best remember the people in life from whom we learn the most. Those are the people who teach us how to think and make us do the thinking, rather than telling us what to think. Those are the special people in our lives who talk about ideas and and how to make possibilities happen, rather than talking about things or other people. Of course, just plain old fashioned experience and lots of practice always helps in learning something new.
My hobbies and interests used to include:
- playing golf
- hunting, fishing, hiking, camping
- swimming, canoeing, sailing
- gardening
- photography
- fine art – painting, drawing, sketching
- travel – US, Canada, So. America, Europe, Bahamas
- playing pool, backgammon, bridge, chess, cribbage
- gourmet cooking
Fun times are enjoyed most when shared by family and friends, who also enjoy doing the same things. We usually remember best, the simple things instead of the big events in life. One of my favorite experiences was doing a workshop in plein–air (outdoor) painting with Skip Whitcomb and our trips to paint at various locations in the Colorado Rockies. As it turned out, I was much better at drawing and sketching than oil painting but I thoroughly enjoyed taking the workshop.
I love and miss the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Montana, especially during summer and fall. We all enjoyed our hunting trips where I not only participated in hunting elk, deer, antelope, sage hen, rabbit, quail and pheasant, with my husband, two stepsons and other hunting friends, but also enjoyed the river rafting and canoeing and fishing trips. I was a pretty good camp cook when it came to gourmet dutch oven and campfire cooking. We had a lot of fun and rarely did we ever have to buy any meat, fish or fowl, from the grocery store.
My interests in 2021 include:
- using Adobe software and learning programming
- news – political, economic, cultural, and bible prophecy
- reading, movies, Apple TV+ original content
- quilting, writing
- backgammon, bridge, hearts, cribbage on iPad
- sourdough / artisan bread making, sprouts and microgreens
In that I use the World Wide Web on a daily basis and derive some of my income from researching the daily news, I was interested in finding statistics about global Internet usage. I have done a graph to illustrate those statistics. Please visit my Internet Stats page of this Bio.
